Rev. Lyle Fred Krumrie

Rev. Lyle Fred Krumrie, of Wabasha, Minnesota, an ordained United Methodist Pastor, died after a long illness on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at Mayo Clinic Health System – Lake City Hospital. He was born on November 27, 1934, in LaCrosse, Wisconsin to John and Elsie (Huebner) Krumrie, Lyle was an only child. He was a graduate of Houston High School in Houston, Minnesota. He went on to attend and graduated from Olivet Nazarene College in Kankakee, Illinois and Evangelical Theological Seminary in Naperville, Illinois. On August 6, 1960, he married Nancy Bassett in Troy, Ohio.
After being ordained he served multi-church parishes in west central, southwest, and south-central Minnesota, as well as in the suburban Twin Cities area including Bloomington churches. The appointment from which he retired was the Weaver and Kellogg United Methodist Churches.
Lyle loved to travel, work on written puzzles, enjoyed spending time reading, and especially loved studying maps. He had a pastor’s heart, caring deeply that his flock learn to walk more closely with the Lord Jesus.
Lyle is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Nancy Bassett Krumrie of Wabasha; and two sons, Charles and his wife Susan Wood and James of the Twin Cities. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 14, at Redeeming Grace Community Church (formerly Lake City Methodist Church) in Lake City. Friends and family may visit on Sunday, April 13, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Lake City Chapel, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.
Memorials are preferred to Lyle’s favorite charities: Samaritan’s Purse or the American Bible Society.
