Stephen Sylvia

Stephen passed away unexpectedly on January 6, 2024. He was 61 years old.
Born on February 26, 1962 in Milwaukee, WI, he grew up in Port Washington, WI, attending Port Washington High.
His father, Earle Sylvia, an aeronautical engineer and mother, Betsy Jopek-Sylvia, a business owner, proceeded him in death. He is survived by three siblings: Laura (Lane), Milwaukee, WI, Daniel Sylvia, Baraboo, WI, and Kristina (Maley), Winona, MN. Steve also leaves his best friend of over 40 years, Brian Maley, Wabasha, MN.
Steve was a valued member of the community who loved fishing on the Mississippi.
He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and loved sports in general. He was a passionate reader.
Steve was most comfortable helping others in need. He will be sadly missed by many friends on both sides of the river.
Stephen had no children but loved his two nieces and two nephews.
The outpouring of support his family has received since his sudden passing has been amazing. Steve truly touched those he knew.
No service is planned at this time, however, a celebration of life is pending.
