Susann ‘Susie’ Rohrer, 69, Eau Claire, WI

Susann (Susie) Rohrer, age 69, of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, was called to Heaven on Monday, September 7, 2015, while a patient at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire. Her family was at her side when God took her into His arms.
 She was born June 3, 1946, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Wabasha, Minnesota, to Adolph Lerum and Leona (“Pat”) (Markey) Lerum. She married Thomas H. Rohrer on June 28, 1969 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Alma, Wisconsin.
Susann graduated from the Buffalo County Teachers College, in Alma, Wisconsin and the University of Wisconsin, River Falls, Wisconsin in 1968. She taught second grade at Wausau, Wisconsin during the 1968-69 school year and Lincoln Elementary in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, during the 1969-70 school year.
It was now time for Susie and Tom to start a family and she would turn their house into a home, and that she did with many beautiful flowers everywhere and lots of pretty vases and pots, all filled with flowers. She also had their yard filled with beautiful shrubs, trees and flowers. She was an avid reader and when she was not tending to her family or making their home beautiful, you could find her reading. She also taught 4th grade at St. James for 12 years and substituted in the Eau Claire, Fall Creek, Augusta and Elk Mound School Systems. She went with Tom to many corvette and classic car shows throughout the country.  For her 60th birthday, she took a museum delivery of a new Monterey red corvette convertible in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, two sons, Nathan (Miranda Lee) Rohrer of Eau Claire, Benjamin (Lara) Rohrer of Menomonie, Wisconsin, special Bicheon Freise, Auggie, grandsons, Aiden Radunzel and Brodie Broome, Granddaughter Kirsten Lee, Eau Claire, Wisconsin. One sister, Kathy Zeller, Puysserampion, France, 2 Brothers, Mark (Lori) Lerum of Colfax, Wisconsin, Thomas (Donita) Lerum of Landrum, South Carolina and sister-in-law, Janet Rohrer of Winona, Minnesota, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, and Aunt Mae.  
Memorials may be given in Susann’s name to the Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation (curemeso.org).
Funeral mass took place Friday, September 11, 2015, at St. James the Greater Catholic Church, Eau Claire, Wisconsin, with Father Tom Krieg officiating. Burial will take place at a later date.
