Thelma Darlene Lee, 88, Lincoln, NE
Thelma was born on April 20, 1926 to Aaron and Zola (Bennett) Marchant in Bayard, Iowa, and died Wednesday, November 5, 2014, in Lincoln, Nebraska, at the age of 88 years.
Thelma graduated from Bayard High School in Bayard, Iowa in 1949. She then attended beauty school and graduated in 1956. On April 13, 1959 Thelma was united in marriage to Eugene Lee in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Thelma was co-owner of Lee’s Refrigeration. In her free time Thelma enjoyed watching Nebraska football, watching birds in their backyard and traveling. She liked to ride along with Gene on service calls. Thelma and Gene enjoyed attending annual reunions with their Air Force friends. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Seward, Nebraska.
Thelma is survived by her husband, Gene Lee, Seward, Nebraska; daughter and husband, Monique and Richard Keever, Tacoma, Washington; sisters, Belle Marchant, Pleasant Hill, Iowa, Betty Woods, Taopi, Minnesota; sister-in-law, Stella Lamey, Grand Rapids, Michigan; cousin-in-law, Maryann Zickrick, Long Beach, California; many other family and friends. Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, Aaron and Zola Marchant; sisters, Cleta Marchant, Jenith Marchant, Marie and Lyle Kinnick, Zelda and James Monroe; brothers and sisters-in-law, Rex and Mildred Marchant, Lindsay and Opal Marchant, Melvin and Donna Marchant; brother-in-law, John Woods.
A Rosary Prayer Service was held Sunday, November 9, 2014, at St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church, Seward, Nebraska.
Mass of Christian Burial was Monday, November 10, 2014, at St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church with Father Christopher Barak officiating.
A funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, November 12, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joachim’s Catholic Church, Plainview, Minnesota.
Interment was at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery, Kellogg, Minnesota
