Thomas W. LaVigne

Thomas W. LaVigne, 28 of Wabasha, MN passed away Sunday, September 1, 2024, at home in the arms of his loving family.
Thomas William LaVigne was born March 14, 1996, in Macon, GA to Andrea (Haugh) and Mark LaVigne. He graduated from Wabasha-Kellogg High School in 2014.
Thomas fought the day he was born, and continued to fight until his last breath. He was able to fight for so long because of his family and his homecare nurses (who became the same.) The nurses became like surrogate mothers to him, and visibly loved him every day. Thomas could always count on his Mom, Dad, and two sisters to be there when he needed them. He loved to hold Dad's hand and have the comfort of his Mom's touch.
He always looks forward to seeing his family, but his most significant achievement was riding in his ’74 Dodge Dart that he and his Dad built. Thomas inspired his two little sisters to become nurses to care for people like him. Thomas enjoyed snuggling with his dogs, having weekend morning coffee with Dad and Tobi, and watching movies with his family. Thomas touched every person he met, regardless of what he was going through. Thomas will continue to leave a legacy in our hearts, and he will always be incredibly loved.
Thomas is survived by his parents, Andrea and Mark LaVigne; sisters: Megan LaVigne and Morgan (Zach Scharpen) LaVigne; paternal grandmother Sharron LaVigne Dick; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Tom and Kathy Haugh; paternal grandfathers William LaVigne and Donald Dick.
Visitation was held 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, September 5, 2024, at Abbott Funeral Home, Wabasha and also began at 10 a.m. Friday at the church. There was a prayer service at the conclusion of the visitation Thursday evening.
Funeral Mass was held 11 a.m. Friday, September 6, 2024, at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Kellogg. Interment was at St. Agnes Cemetery, Kellogg.
