Wilhelmine M. ‘Wills’ Schmit, 89, rural Kellogg

Wilhelmine M. (Wills) Schmit, age 89, of rural Kellogg, died peacefully at her home after a lengthy illness with her loving family at her side on Friday, December 14, 2018. Wilhelmine was born in Lake City to John and Wava (Lopp) Wills. She married Edwin Schmit November 10, 1952 at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Kellogg. They had eleven children, ten of which survive. Edwin and Wilhelmine farmed near Kellogg since 1956.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at Conception, rural Kellogg. She was also a member of its Altar Society.
She is survived by her husband, Edwin; children, Elaine (Jeff) McDonald, Earl (Laurie) Schmit, Gerald Schmit, Larry (Gail) Schmit, Judy (Jeff) Johnson, Betty Horn (Kevin Kast), Ann Schmit, Darlene (Frank) Fabian, Rita (Ed) Rabehl, Ruth (Shawn) Bauer, and several grand children and great-grandchildren. One daughter, her parents, one brother, one sister, three step-sisters and one step-brother preceded her in death.
 A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at 11:00am at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Reverend Father William Becker officiating. Family and friends may call at the church on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 from 4-8pm and one hour before the Mass on Wednesday. Interment will be at St. Felix Cemetery in Wabasha. The family prefers memorials. The Abbott Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements. www.abbottfh.com
