Marit Gelein

Marit Rhae Gelein, 49 of Augusta passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2019.
Marit was born to Harold and Pamela (Becker) Gelein on December 3, 1969 in Madison, WI. Marit had a love of all animals and was a country girl at heart. She loved horses – training, riding and rescuing them and was an avid bike rider, exceptional child care provider and a lover of the outdoors. Marit was at her best, as a Mom, to her son Barak. Barak and the rest of her family and friends were most important to her. Marit was a sweet and sensitive soul. She took great pride in creating her family home in Webster, where she lived for many years. Her legacy will be the love she left for her family and friends. She will be dearly missed.
Marit is survived by her son Barak, mother Pam Gelein, brother Mike (Wendy), nieces Mckinley, Mariana and Gabriella, Aunts Helen Becker and Carol Whitney, step-mom Anne Gelein and step-sisters Gina Bennett and Jacqui Fullerton, as well as, many other cousins and dear friends.
Marit was preceded in death by her father, Harold Gelein, Uncle David Becker and Aunts Cindy Stabler and Abbe Vining.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Northwoods Brew Pub (50819 West Street, Osseo) on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at 10:30 am. Burial will take place at a later date at Forest Hill Cemetery in Eau Claire. Family and friends may leave online condolences at www.smithfuneralec.com.
