Amy Elaine Flick

Amy Elaine Flick was born on November 23, 1928, in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, the daughter of Henry and Esther (Livermore) Dobrenz. As a young child, she moved to the rural area of Augusta, where she attended Hay Creek Country School and later Augusta High School. At the age of 15 she married James Flick, and the couple spent their married life together in the Augusta area.

Following their divorce, in addition to raising her fam-ily, Amy attended CVTC, where she completed training as a certified nursing assistant (CNA). She went on to work with dedication as a CNA at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire. When her mother needed daily assistance, Amy moved to Havre, Montana, to care for her, eventually taking a job as a food technician at a local hospital. Following her mother's passing in 1984, Amy remained and worked in Montana until 1991, when she retired from Northern Montana Hospital and moved back to Augusta in 1992. She then lived north of Augusta for several years before moving into the Augusta apartments, where she deeply enjoyed the company of her neighbors.

Due to failing health, Amy entered Dove Healthcare - South in Eau Claire in November 2023, residing there until she was later transferred to Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire, where she passed way early Wednesday morning, Sept. 16, 2026, at the age of 97 years, 10 months and 23 days.

Amy possessed a natural gift for caring for others, whether spending cherished time with her family and grandchildren or providing compassionate home healthcare to individuals in need. She provided a service to families in the Augusta area, that allowed their loved ones the opportunity to stay in their home as long as possible. She fully retired when she was in her 90’s and stopped driving at the age of 94.

Amy will be dearly missed by her daughter, Gail Stern of Eau Claire; four sons, Henry Flick of Osseo, Bruce Flick (Lisa Zillmer) of Black River Falls, Jerry Flick (Glenda Hice) of Osseo, Terry (Danny Loosemore) Flick of Fall Creek; nine grandchildren and more who she considered like grandchildren with several great and great great grand-children. She was preceded in death by her father Henry in 1958, her mother Esther in 1984; daughter Linda Schrader; grandchildren, James Loy-al Flick and Erin Flick; brother Gene Dobrenz; step-sisters, Mable Behlke and Nellie Pratt; and young siblings Ann, Cecil and Marie Dobrenz.
