Helen Sieg
Helen Charlotte Sieg went home to be with her beloved Lord and Savior on September 5th, 2026. She was greeted in heaven by her parents Henry and Charlotte (Brick) Zebarth, husband Gordon Sieg, sisters Mary Jane Magnuson and Evelyn Diffie, an infant daughter and two grandchildren.
Helen was born February 8th, 1934 in Augusta, WI. Her father's nickname for her was George. She shared childhood memories of assisting her father by trimming the cemetery grass with scissors. She was a graduate of Augusta High School. She spent a summer working in Rockford, IL before marrying the love of her life, Gordon Sieg in October 1952.Together they raised six blessed children on the family dairy farm.
They and her grandchildren were the joy of her life, as evidenced by the countless pictures taken over the years. In addition to being a Proverbs 31 woman, Helen ran a strawberry business and embroidered with amazing skill. Gordon and Helen earned a certificate of excellence at square dancing. They first met at the movies, despite Gordon having taken dancing lessons at his mother's behest in hopes he would meet a girl there. Turns out, Gordon and Helen were taught dance differently and subsequently found Square Dancing as a compromise. Gordon and Helen came to saving knowledge of Jesus Christ as adults. Helen was active in the founding of Chippewa Valley General Assembly, participated in weekly protests at Planned Parent-hood, was a faithful attendee of prayer meetings, a prayer warrior and like Aquila and Priscilla, opened her home to the church during winter months when their building was too cold.
She is survived by her sib-lings Daniel (Kay) Zebarth and Barbara Kane; her six children Gregory (Karen) Sieg, Teresa (Dean) Morse, Randolph (Rose) Sieg, Jeffrey Sieg, Rebecca Wells and Lewis (Sarah) Sieg; and 28 grand-children; and tremendously blessed with innumerable great-grandchildren who will dearly miss her hugs, cookies and baked beans.
A visitation will be held Monday, Sept. 14, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta, where funeral services conducted by Pastor William Kermott will begin at noon. Burial will be in the Osseo Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Jackson County Right to Life or Chippewa Valley General Assembly. The family would like to thank the caring staff at the Augusta Health and Rehabilitation for their loving care of Helen. Especially for the times they spent reading her scripture.
