Robert McCune

Robert McCune, age 92, Fairborn OH died on Monday, July 20, 2026.

He was born October 11, 1933, in the Otter Creek Township, Eau Claire County to Frieda Louise (Rosentreter) McCune and William McConnell McCune. After graduating from Augusta High School, Bob worked on the family farm. He then entered the military, where he was trained in electronics and worked as a radar technician. After his service he took a position with Boeing Aircraft in Seattle where he worked on the Minuteman

Robert McCune missile installations and re-turned to Seattle to work on the Apollo program and then the B2 program. Following his retirement from Boeing, he began working at Space Labs. He continued to live in Auburn Washington until the end of 2025 when he moved to Fairborn, OH to be with his nephew.

He is survived by is sisters, Helen Iacobacci and Mary Hugdahl, five nephews, two nieces and numerous grand-nieces and one grandnephew. He was interned September 9 at West Lawn Cemetary
