Ruth (Sunshine) Margaret Poore, 77, lived in Eleva, WI and went home to be with God on Friday, November 21, 2025.
Ruth Margaret (Kesson) Poore was born December 31, 1947 in East Aurora, NY to John Thomson Kesson and Odrin Theres (Torvick) Kesson and had an older sister Jean (Kesson) Hunt. On December 27, 1969 in Wales Hollow, NY she married John Dennis Poore.

In 1974, Ruth and John purchased 80 acres in the Town of Pleasant Valley and built their home. Ruth loved to travel in their camper and was the navigator. She navigated trips to all 50 states! She was also a quilter, seamstress, rock collector and a collector of various “unusual things” and a fabulous cook.
Playing with her grandson Isaac was at the top of list her favorite things to do right alongside of playing drums with the Praise Team at Pleasant Valley Lutheran Church. Ruth was very active in church life and served as church council secretary for many years. Ruth loved the Praise Team ministry at CVTCF prison and rarely missed the opportunity to play her drums in worship with the men at the facility each month. Ruth had a wonderful sense of humor, quick witted but also gentle and serious when the situation called for it.

“My sunrises are over, but you all have so many yet to come. When you enjoy those sunrises, and cool breezes on warm days, and fresh snow on a crisp, sunny morning, and the smell of the sun in the pine trees and the fallen leaves, enjoy them all for me, too.
All my love, always, Ruth (Sunshine), Mom and Grandma”
