Adam Carl Peterson

Adam Carl Peterson met Jesus and was reunited with his brother, Jeremy, on October 19th at the age of 45. He was the youngest of four siblings, born on July 18th, 1981, in Baldwin WI. He played football at St. Croix Central and loved his high school job on a dairy farm. Adam was incredibly intelligent and went on to study mechanical engineering and continued his football career at UW Platteville.
During his time at college Adam experienced a life-altering motorcycle accident that left him paralyzed. Faced with challenges few could imagine, he persevered, continued his education and ultimately graduated. Although mobility limitations and ongoing health issues kept him from pursuing a traditional career in his field, his engineering mind never stopped working.
Adam spent his life building, tinkering, inventing and imagining. His ingenuity and determination helped him find new ways to navigate the world from a wheelchair, and he never let his limitations define what was possible for him.
He enjoyed hunting season, gathering with friends, and blowing off fireworks every 4th of July. He never stopped learning and was always reading or listening to podcasts. He pursued the art of blacksmith and welding, was an avid gun collector, a true patriot, and a genuine friend.
Adam was a force to be reckoned with, never one to shy away from sharing his opinions or standing his ground. Stubborn at times and fiercely independent, he had a strong spirit and a big heart for those he loved. When his father, Ken Peterson, had a stroke that left him unable to care for himself, Adam stepped up to help his mom, Marian, with daily routines and care. He took his younger second cousins under his wing during a tough time in their lives and spent time teaching them new things and giving them a space to be kids and have fun.
Adam preceded his mother, Marian, and father, Ken, to heaven, but we know he is now snowboarding with his brother, Jeremy. He will be deeply missed by his brother, Kyle, and sister, Arin, as well as his nieces, nephew, great-nephews, and great niece. Adam touched many lives during his time on earth and while our hearts ache with his loss, we know with certainty that he is now whole and healthy sitting at the feet of Jesus.
“But our citizenship is in heaven, and we eagerly wait for a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ. He will transform the body of our humble condition into the likeness of his glorious body, by the power that enables him to subject everything to himself.” Philippians 3:20-21
Memorial services will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 31, 2026, at Lund Mission Covenant Church in Lund, WI with Pastor Darren Catron officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
