Deloris “Dee” Claudette Anderson
Deloris “Dee” Claudette Anderson, 89, of Ella, WI died peacefully Thursday, February 12, 2026 on her 70th Wedding Anniversary surrounded by loving family at The Home Place in Durand, WI. She was born September 12, 1936 in Columbus, OH; daughter of Gerald and Helen (Czapla) Bush.
A few years later after she was born, she and family settled at Hickam Field in Hawaii, where her father, Gerald, was stationed with the Army. On December 7, 1941, during the Attack on Pearl Harbor, Japanese Zero fighter planes strafed the base, and she and her brother ran for cover amid the chaos.
Two days later, while inside a warehouse on the base, a large wire spool fell and broke her leg. At just five years old, she later received an honorary recognition from the Army for her bravery during those frightening days.
She graduated from Woodbridge High School in Avenel, NJ. Following high school Dee was employed at Western Electric Company in Newark, NJ. She met DuWayne Anderson on a blind date and on February 12, 1956 she married him in Avenel, New Jersey. They then moved to Ella, WI where they raised their four sons.
Dee was co-owner of Anderson Auto and Dee’s Stop & Shop. She worked in the business office for Menards in Eau Claire for over 25 years.
She enjoyed bowling, golfing, and air boating, or just spending time on the river. She was also an avid Brewer fan. She adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as her dog Lily.
She is survived by her sons, Bruce (Angie) of Arkansaw; Dave (Marion) of Ella; Brian (Kelly) Arkansaw; Jeff (Carrie) of Ella; grandchildren, Donovan (Heidi), Rick (Justina), Samantha (Jared) Gifford, Tonia (Jake Bee), Ryan, Kayla, Renee (Jon) Guenther, Kenzie (Aaron) Johnson, Abbey (Tyler) Adamczak, Alex Anderson, Max Anderson; several great-grandchildren; nephews, Jerry Bush and Jimmy Bush; sister-in-law, Olympia Bush, special friend Dan Richardson, and the wonderful staff and residents of The Homeplace, as well as the St.Croix Hospice staff.
She is preceded in death by her husband, DuWayne; grandson, Austin Anderson; great grandson, Trey Anderson; parents, Gerald and Helen Bush; brother, Larry Bush.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 3:00PM- 6:00PM on Saturday, April 25th, 2026 at Twisted Sisters Saloon in Ella,WI.
