He married Eva-Maria Mombelli-Hoehne on September 30th, 1978 at St. Joseph’s church in Burlington, Vermont.
He worked for over 40 years as an owner-operator trucker crossing the beautiful USA. He loved sitting and looking out of the window, as he called it. He also earned a bachelor’s degree in Christian ministry, and was an ordained minister, loving his Lord and savior passionately, and sharing His love wherever he could. He was a volunteer Chaplain at the Durand jail for close to twenty years, caring for the souls of the men who needed and wanted his beloved savior and those who needed help and advice, with great commitment. He also for a season was the chaplain for the local chapter of the Christian motorcycle Association and loved riding his motorbike with them. He spent every Tuesday with a group of Christian motorbike riders, drinking coffee and sharing with each other about the goodness of God. He joined his wife Eva-Maria on mission trips to the persecuted churches in South East Asia, bringing scripture, comfort and love of God to hurting brothers and sisters there. That’s what he loved!
