Lawrence K. “Larry” Helmueller

Lawrence K. “Larry” Helmueller, age 81 of Eau Galle died Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at his home in Eau Galle.
Larry was born on July 21, 1941 in Elmwood. He was the son of Tony and Edith (Harmon) Helmueller. Larry grew up in the Eau Galle area, helped his parents with the store in Eau Galle and graduated from Sacred Heart Catholic School in Lima, rural Durand. After high school, Larry went to vocational school in Eau Claire and after graduating, became a union carpenter. Larry married Denise Komro in October of 1971. Together they had two sons, Shawn and Lane. Working with the Wisconsin Carpenter’s union, Larry did many jobs across the Western Wisconsin area and the Twin Cities until his retirement.
Larry enjoyed making artwork via paintings and carvings. He also liked to spend time in the outdoors hunting and fishing.
Larry is survived by his sons, Shawn of Eau Galle and Lane of Waukesha, sister-in-law, Mary Helmueller and brother-in-law, Dan Weber, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Denise, one sister, Nancy Weber and brother, Ed Helmueller.
Memorial Mass will be 11:00AM Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Eau Galle with Rev. Jerry Hoeser officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00AM until the time of services at the church on Wednesday.
