Richard “Dick” Saddoris

Richard “Dick” Saddoris, 88, of Davenport passed away Thursday April 14, 2022 at Clarissa Cook Hospice in Bettendorf, surrounded by his loving family. Dick was born in Lincoln, Nebraska on November 7, 1933 to Samuel Saddoris and Vinna (Krick) Saddoris. Dick attended Lincoln High School and then the University of Nebraska. Dick was united in marriage to the love of his life, Patricia Matthews on January 31,1952. Shortly after marriage Dick joined the Army and was a medic stationed in Germany. After an honorable discharge from the Army, Dick went to physical therapy school in Houston, Texas. After graduation, Dick practiced in Des Moines, Iowa and Burlington, Iowa before settling in Monmouth, Illinois to raise their four children. Late in his career, Dick relocated to Durand, Wisconsin to continue practicing PT with his son Tom at Chippewa Valley Hospital. Dick enjoyed watching and rooting on any University of Nebraska athletics, no matter what the sport. He loved all music especially Jazz and Blues. Dick and Pat were crazy about boating and lake life in northern Minnesota. In retirement and before, they built their dream cabin and summered at Lake Vermillion while wintering in southern Texas. Those left to cherish Dick’s memory are his wife Pat (Matthews) Saddoris, children, Tom (Heidi) Saddoris, Tad Saddoris, Terri (Tor) Menke, Tracy (Marty) Strandberg. His grandchildren, Alicia Saddoris, Sam Link, Matthew Saddoris, Colton Menke, Amber Link, Holly (Link) Scott, Raegan Menke, Ruby Saddoris, Lilly Saddoris, Nate Strandberg, Gabe Strandberg and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings Bill, Bob, Jean and Dawn.
