After its first game of the week was canceled due to snow, the Eleva-Strum boys basketball team played at Blair-Taylor on Friday, Feb. 5.
The teams were tied at the end of the first half with 24 points apiece but the Wildcats’ offense came alive in the second half, scoring 37 points en route to handing E-S the 61-43 loss.
The Cards’ offense couldn’t manage to get any one player into double figures that evening. Bennett Moen and Mathew Higley each scored nine points and Drew Christianson had eight followed by Tanner Engen and Cade Kunferman with six points apiece.
Forty-eight of Blair-Taylor’s 61 points came from two players; River Kircher scored a game-high 29 points while Dillon Zinn had 19.
The Cardinals played at Gilmanton on Monday, Feb. 8, and will also travel to Arcadia for a non-conference game on Friday, Feb. 12.
The Melrose-Mindoro game, which was canceled Feb. 2, is scheduled to be played at home on Thursday, Feb. 25.
