Established Mondovi veterinary office receives new name

All Paws Animal Hospital branches out

Dr. Cathie Morrow has cared for canine and feline patients alike, and is now doing so under a new name and separate business.
All Paws Animal Hospital is a full service animal hospital that welcomes both emergency treatment cases, as well as pet patients in need of routine medical, surgical, and dental care.
All Paws offers a wide variety of different services, including: preventative care, vaccines, exams, and teachings of heart-worm, flea and tick prevention. They also offer general surgeries, as in spaying and neutering. There are no orthopedics used in most surgeries, unless it be a high-level case.
The facility also offers pet food and medications. The animal hospital is predominately for dogs and cats.
In order to start the business, Dr. Cathie Morrow bought out a small animal portion of Mondovi Veterinary Service.
Morrow mentioned that the large animal veterinarians didn’t have a lot of interest in the small animal-care portion, or the after hours calls.
“I think it was a mutual agreement because I’m looking to reinvest some profits and purchase some items that will benefit the practice,” Morrow stated. “I wasn’t able to do that under them.”

Two separate practices under the same roof

Morrow, who worked within the Mondovi Veterinary Service for 2.5 years, continues working alongside Assistant Amanda Olson. Katy Forsythe was also brought in as the receptionist, and Sarah Weber was added as a licensed certified veterinary technician to help with changeover. Along with staffing, they did add a new computer system, which allows sending of appointment reminders.
“Our goal is that we want to promote healthcare and an environment that makes people aware of what’s out there,” Morrow said. “We want to be client-friendly.”
Morrow is originally from Alma Center, Wisconsin. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree from UW-River Falls, and attended veterinary schooling at UW-Madison, where she graduated in 2003. Morrow has 11.5 years of experience total in veterinary services.
Morrow lived in Baldwin for three years after school, then to Hudson for a short time. Morrow also lived in Glenwood City for three years. For about a year, Morrow commuted from Mondovi to Glenwood City after her and her family moved to Mondovi.
Prior to working with the Mondovi Veterinary Service, Morrow taught veterinary classes at Chippewa Valley Technical College for 2.5 years. Morrow had mixed feelings about leaving teaching behind.
“I do, but I don’t [miss teaching]. This is still teaching, it’s just in a different environment,” Morrow said.
Patient education for pet parents is a true passion of hers.
“I really enjoy the client education part of [my job]. I really enjoy letting my clients know what is available for their pets and helping them make the decisions that are right for them and right for their pet so we can have the highest quality of life for the longest period of time,” Morrow said.
She also enjoys one-on-one time with clients.
“I like getting to know people and getting to know their pets,” Morrow stated, “I enjoy being able to make their pets feel better when they are sick.”
All Paws Animal Hospital is open from 8am-5pm Monday-Wednesday and Friday, Thursdays from 8am-noon, and every first and third Saturday of the month from 8am-noon. To schedule an appointment or for more information, call (715) 926-1122 or visit http://allpawsanimalhospital.com.
