Highs and lows sum up week for E-S girls

On Tuesday, Jan. 12, the Eleva-Strum girls basketball team traveled to Whitehall to take on the Lady Norse. The Cards had a strong lead in the first half of the game, having double the points that the Norse did, with a score of 30-15. The Lady Cards kept in the lead scoring another 19 points and displaying strong defense, letting Whitehall score only 11 points. The end result of the game was the Cardinals getting the win, with a score of 49-26.

The leading scorers for the night were Abby Palkowski with a total of 14 points, Greta Monson with nine, and Josie Olson with six.

On Friday, Jan. 15, the Lady Cards traveled to C-FC to play the Pirates. The Pirates had a strong lead in the first half of the game, scoring 35 points, while the Cardinals only scored eight points. Once the second half came around, the Lady Cards again exhibited strong defense and scored 15 points, but the Pirates scored 22 points, handing the Lady Cards the 57-23 loss. For the night, the leading scorers were Monson with six points, Olson with six, and Jenna Booth with three points.

The E-S girls were scheduled to play at Durand on Tuesday, Jan. 19, for a non-conference game. The Cards will also play against Augusta on Thursday, Jan. 21.
