Sara Sessions

Sara Marie (Burlingame) Sessions, 77, passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2016, at Mayo Health Systems-Eau Claire.
She was born to Wilfred G and Esther V. (Heath) Burlingame on May 10, 1938, in Tomah, Wis. She graduated from Eleva-Strum High School May of 1957. She met and married the “love of her life,” Roy A. Sessions, on Oct. 12, 1958. Roy served in the USAF. Upon Roy’s retirement they returned to Wisconsin. It always amazed Roy that no matter where they lived or what the standard of housing, Sara made it “home.” Their marriage was blessed with three daughters and one son.
Sara worked for the Department of the Army while in Okinawa and at the Tucson Medical Center in Tucson, Ariz. While stationed at Grand Forks AFB, ND, she was a secretary at the elementary school and parish secretary at Ascension Lutheran Church, Emerado, ND. Sara was the parish secretary at Drammen/Pleasant Valley Lutheran Church, Eleva, and principal’s secretary at Eleva-Strum High School and retired from the Eau Claire Area School District in 2000. After retirement, she held various part-time jobs in the area, totally retiring in 2009. She volunteered at the Mayo Health Systems, Eau Claire in the Cancer Center and ENT. She was a member of Hope United Methodist Church, Eau Claire.
She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, crafts, and loved to dance. She said dancing to “old-time music” was the greatest way to get exercise and was doctor recommended! Sara was an excellent military wife because she loved to travel and enjoyed the adventure of it all. Later, she enjoyed traveling to visit her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Sara felt her greatest accomplishment was raising her four children to be kind, caring, successful adults and rejoiced in all their accomplishments.
Sara will be sadly missed by her daughters, Kim (Allen) Hartman, Karmin (Kevin) Moorhead, Kamilla (Mike Berzinsky) Sessions; son, Keith (Shannon) Sessions; grandchildren, Philip (Jessica) Henneman, Jennifer (Michael) Parks, Jason (Erica) Moorhead, Amy (Christopher) Linder, Kami Moorhead, Zachary, Mackenzie, Kylee and Jackson Diedrich, Koltin, McKenna, Kiley, Isabella and Mia Sessions; great-grandchildren, Lucas Parks and Nathan Parks, Grace Linder and Jack Linder, Leah Henneman, and Archie Moorhead; sister, Iris Baudendistel; nieces; nephews; cousins, and dear friends; her special cat, Honey, who made her laugh every day.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy; parents; brothers, Archie and Larry Burlingame, sister Joan Heck; brother-in-law, Ralph Baudendistel; special angel grandson, Joshua Diedrich.
A funeral service was held at Hope United Methodist Church, Eau Claire, on Friday, April 22, at 11 a.m., with Pastor Robb McClintock. Burial as in Pleasant Valley Lutheran Cemetery near Eau Claire.
