Doris Heinz

Doris Heinz was born on January 9, 1949 in Philadelphia, PA. She moved to California and met her husband, William Dittrich. They had 3 children together, and later moved back to Plainview, MN, where Bill was from. After the children were all grown they all ended up back in California, Bill and Doris moved back as well. Doris held a few exciting jobs during her career.
At one time she was climbing telephone poles for Pacific Bell, and later she became a semi truck driver for Swift Transportation. Not many of us can say we've driven a 53' semi truck!
She and Bill loved traveling all over the United States during those years.
Upon retirement, they enjoyed the remainder of their years together spending time with their children, grandchildren, family and friends in CA.
Doris had a heart of gold. She tirelessly served the needs of her husband and her entire family. She loved cooking, baking, sewing, singing, watching musicals, taking care of animals, etc. She was a role model homemaker.
Unfortunately, Doris was diagnosed with cancer in June 2023, but she was a fighter and did not give up.
Doris passed into heaven to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sep.16, 2024 in Monterey County, CA.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bill in September 2023.
Doris was survived by her sister Carol, her children Hugh & Jessica Dittrich; Robert & Kim Dittrich; Melissa & Tosh James; and grandchildren- Lillian, Stone, Phoenix, Acacia, Juliette and Ethan.
