Richard “Cracky” Kreye

Richard “Cracky” Kreye 89-year-old resident of Wabasha, MN passed away July 16, 2025 at Gunderson St. Elizabeth’s Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Friday, July 25, 2025 at St. Felix Catholic Church in Wabasha. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 4-7 PM at Abbott Funeral Home in Wabasha and one hour prior to the service at the church.Cracky was born October 30, 1935 in Wabasha to Henry and Mary Kreye, the 9th of 13 children. He graduated from St. Felix High School with the class of 1954. He was united in marriage to Cornetta “Corky” Sandberg on November 10, 1956 at St. Felix Catholic Church. Cracky worked most of his career as a machinist. After his retirement he drove school bus for 20 years. His hobbies included playing cards, bus trips, going to the casino, and taking walks around Wabasha. Cracky was the biggest fan at any of hi family’s sporting events. He will be remembered for his silly songs and crazy stories.Cracky is survived by his children, Debra and Keith Mueller, Jim and Vickie Kreye, Mike (Kass Abbott Bailey) Kreye, Jean and Steve Schwalbe and Susie (Curt Duellman) Allen; grandchildren, Heather, Kimberly, Melissa, Jennifer, Josh, Evan, Michaela, Jake, Zack, Connor, Jaden; great-grand-children, Malakai, Alaya, Noah, Aiden, Sam, Nora, Lucy, Jaylen, Tyler, Gracie, Addison, Celia, Madisyn, Bexlee, Brynley, Elliemae, April, Chelsie, Maribeth; great-great-grand-children, Onyx, Hayes; sister-in-law, Margaret Kreye; many nieces and nephews.
