Strum Village Board holds two meetings in June

STRUM - The Strum Village Board held two meetings in the month of June 2025, a its regular Board meeting on the 9th and a special one on the 16th.

The regular Board meeting dealt with licenses. They approved all licenses applications from local establishments and stores for beer, liquor and cigarettes along with license applications for all workers at such places which sell cigarettes and alcoholic beverages. The Board also approved an offer on the Spruce Development from Trillium Commercial Realty with the exclusion of Lot 1A and they approved the CMAR resolution before adjourning.

During the June 16 meeting of the Board, a resolution was unanimously approved to borrow $150,000 from the State Trust Fund for the village to finance operations and no other purpose and the loan is to be payable within 10 years from the 15th day of March preceding the date the loan is made. The loan will be repaid in annual installments with interest at the rate of 6.00 percent per annum from the date of making the loan to the 15th day of March that there shall be raised and there is levied upon all taxable property, within the Village of Strum, in the County(ies) of Trempealeau, Wisconsin, a direct annual tax for the purpose of paying interest and principal on the loan as they become due.

The Board also approved to fine citizen Ethan Glosky $100 for numerous possible violations within village ordinance including having debris and unregistered vehicles on property, a fence-building permit at 121 Butternut Dr. licenses for the recently held BrutsFest and an operator's license renewal.
