Jerome “Jerry” Traun
Jerome “Jerry” Traun, born on October 2, 1941, passed away on August 21, 2026, surrounded by family.
Jerry was a loving husband and father. On February 10, 1973, Jerry married his love, Rosie Reinhardt. Jerry’s passion in life was watching his farm grow. He worked hard to create a farming cooperation which he shared with his brothers. It’s hard to imagine that a person who left High School at the age of 16 would be able to create a farming business providing not only for his family but for other family members. Jerry created Traun Farms Inc and for many years worked hard not only to maintain the establishment but to find ways for its prosperity.
Upon retiring, Jerry found enjoyment in his gardens, potatoes as well as pumpkins. He also settled into making things with wood. From furniture to toys, Jerry made it all. If Jerry was not in his shop working on something he was either on YouTube or riding in the countryside on his three-wheel E bike. And he did not go slow!
Survived by his wife, Rosie, daughter Barbara Klinnert (Jeff), grandson, Adrian Gander, granddaughter Nora Werner and Son-in-Law Matt Werner and fiancé Mandi Lovell. Siblings Rita Schlosser (Donald), Bernice Kubat (Donald), Janice Myren (Cyril), William Traun (Brenda), Joseph Traun (Margo), Roseann Bauer (Francis), Marietta Bauer (David) and Michael Traun (Jackie). There are nieces, nephews as well as relatives too numerous to list.
Proceeded in death were William and Rose (Weisenbeck) Traun, daughter Vicki Werner, niece Jennifer, Brother-in-law Don Kubat, and nephew Tony.
Funeral Mass will be 11:00AM Friday, August 28, 2026 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Durand with Rev. Emmanuel Asamoah-Bekoe officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
