Jackson County Board approves several forest-related measures
BLACK RIVER FALLS - The Jackson County Board approves several resolutions concerning county forestry and parks during its September meeting held back on the 21st at the County Government Center.
The Board gave its unanimous approved of the 2027 Annual Work Plan for the Forestry and Parks. They also voted in favor of designating any funds over the amount of $750,000 in the Combined Forestry Fund to be transferred to the county budget's General Fund at the end of each year, although there were two dissenting votes for the resolution which passed 15-2. They also approved a resolution directing the county's Forestry & Parks Administrator to act on behalf of Jackson County to: submit an application to the State of Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources for any financial aid that may be available to help the county acquire or develop lands for public outdoor recreation purposes.
In other agenda items, the Board approved a resolution to increase jury fees to $30.00 for full day service, $15.00 for half day service, plus $7.00 meal fee for full day service, if meal not provided by Jackson County. They also voted unanimously to designate the Law Enforcement and Emergency Management Committee to serve as the Grievance Committee for county government.
