James Arthur Hanson

James Arthur Hanson, age 68 of Elgin passed away in Inver Grove Heights, MN on April 13, 2026.
James was born on March 9, 1958, the son of Arthur and Beth (Goetting) in La Crosse. He attended elementary school in Houston and then he and his siblings were in foster care and he attended Plainview-Elgin-Millville schools where he graduated in 1976. He attended RCTC and Mankato State following high school. He had many interests, life plans and adventures. He worked various places along the way and then ended his working years with the United Postal Service where he was a rural mail carrier for 17 years. 
Jim loved to travel and had a special ability and love for downhill skiing. He loved to sail on his catamaran. 
Jim will be missed by his siblings Paul (Mary) of Sturgis, SD, Ruth (Micheal) Hamilton of Elgin and Lois (Jim) Persons of St. Charles, his foster siblings Pam, Kim, Cheryl and Louise and his foster mom LaVonne Harcey of Rochester.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his foster father Russel Mullin and one foster sister Beth.
Burial will take place in the Saratoga Cemetery, and a private service will take place.
