Jason Joel Miller
Jason Joel Miller was born on March 21, 1970 weighing a hefty 8lb 10 oz. He spent his childhood and teen years on the family farm where, in addition to farm life, he played t-ball and participated in 4H. During his teen years Jason could often be found tinkering on a car engine. Jason graduated from Plainview High School in 1988.
After high school Jason worked with his dad and uncle in construction. As he entered his 20’s, he moved to Rochester where he found his niche working in the fast food industry. Jason held management positions at Wendy’s, Domino’s Pizza and Quizno’s Subs for the next 20 years. In 2011 Jason joined the Charter/Spectrum team where he was employed until his health forced him to leave the work force in 2023.
Jason enjoyed playing darts and bowling. He was an avid reader of science fiction and loved going to movies and critiquing them. He could quote many lines from endless movies. Jason took pleasure in watching TV food shows. While eating he often identified the ingredients or method used in preparation or offered his thoughts on what could make the dish better. However, Jason’s favorite past time was gaming. He belonged to several online gaming groups and had a solid group of friends who gamed weekly in their homes. These friends were a great support for him when he had a significant medical event in 2018, spending several months in the hospital and nursing home.
Jason loved a good debate and admitted he could be opinionated, but he didn’t let debates evolve into arguments. He was well read and could converse knowledgably on a great variety of subjects. He was known for his kindness, especially to those who were down on their luck or who worked in the service industry. Jason was loyal to his family and friends in all circumstances, often putting other’s needs and feelings above his own. He was admired by many for not complaining though he was often very sick. Jason was happy and satisfied living a quiet, simple life.
Surviving Jason are his parents: Paul (Julie) Miller, Kellogg MN, Carolyn (David) Purcell, Rochester MN; siblings: Jessica (Lee) Tyner, Jones, OK, Joanna (Jose) Boror, Oklahoma City, OK, Asa (Melissa) Miller Kasson, MN, Erik (Christine) Johnson, Kellogg, MN, Kris Johnson, Lake City MN. Nieces and nephews: Nolan, Grant, Katrina, Haley, Tyler, Kaylee and Gracie. Great niece and nephews: Avery, Eva and Oliver.
Jason passed away on August 22, 2024 doing what he enjoyed most - gaming online. Honoring Jason’s wishes immediate family will gather to celebrate Jason’s life at a private ceremony.
