Michael “Mike” Haley

Michael “Mike” Haley, 76, peacefully passed away at his home in Plainview, MN, with his family by his side on Tuesday, August 5, 2025. He was born June 25, 1949, to Robert and Arvilla (Smith) Haley in Wabasha, Minnesota.
Michael’s family moved from Pepin, Wisconsin to Plainview in 1951 and has resided there ever since. He Graduated from Plainview High School in 1967. He then enlisted in the United States Army. After the military, Mike married Janet Kay Adler in 1970 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Plainview.
He worked as a mason, owning Haley Masonry for many years. Following his career, he worked for Darold Masonry in Rochester.
Michael enjoyed hunting and fishing. Scenic drives with family were very important to him. The family had done winter trips to Arizona for over thirty years. He also enjoyed trips to the casino and loved watching his kid’s sporting events. He also served as an excellent handyman for his children.
Mike is survived by his loving wife, Janet; two daughters, Jaime (Steven) Stamp of Rochester, and Shelly (Michael Kieffer) Haley of Dover; two sons, Scott (Annie) Haley of Kellogg, and Marty (Susan Deherrera) Haley of Rollingstone; one brother, James (Pat) Haley of Plainview; Eight grandchildren, Taylor, Dani, Gracie, Jameson, Macey, Makana, Shania and Tyson. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and four brothers.
The funeral for Michael will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 11, 2025, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Plainview with Pastor Phil Augustine officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Plainview with Military rites provided by American Legion Post # 179 of Plainview. Friends and family are welcome to the visitation Sunday, August 10, 2025, at Schleicher Funeral Home, Plainview Chapel, from 1 to 4 P.M. and then for one hour prior to the service at the church.
