Ms. Gayle Irene Abbott Bressner

Ms. Gayle Bressner, age 84, of Villa Rica, Georgia passed away at her home on Tuesday, May 30, 2023. Gayle was diagnosed with Stage 4 Duodenum Adenocarcinoma in July of 2022 and with courage and determination, set out to fight this relentless cancer. She showed immeasurable spirit and positivity throughout the duration of her battle.
She was born on February 20, 1939 in St. Charles, Minnesota. The only daughter of Wallace and Irene Abbott (retired in Lake City, MN), Gayle grew up on a dairy farm in Elgin, Minnesota. She played the clarinet in her high school marching band and won a championship ribbon at the County Fair in Rochester, Minnesota in 1953 for the best Hereford Steer. In 1990, Gayle and her husband, Stan, purchased Alum-A-Lift and she devoted her working life to helping Stan run the business until her retirement in 2004. After retirement, she spent time gardening, joined a book club, and was always surrounded by loving friends and family. Gayle and Stan enjoyed their retirement in their Villa Rica home – sitting out on their patio to delight in their lake view.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Wallace and Irene Abbott; her husband of 35 years, Stanley Bressner; her son, David Seifert; and her daughter-in-law, Kathy Bressner.
She is survived by her daughters, Carol Hunsaker of Atlanta, GA, and Pauline (Terry) Sannes of Morehead, MN; stepsons, Niels Bressner, Glen (Marion) Bressner, Eric Bressner, and Gorm (Karen) Bressner; 8 grandchildren: Holly Gayle Hunsaker, Angie Langlie, Josh Langlie, Charly Bressner, Oskar Bressner, Greta Bressner, Grace Bressner, and Erika Bressner; 4 great grandchildren: Rei Pederson, Kyla Pederson, David Langlie, and Rylan Langlie; great great grandchild, AJ Singletary; and her loving and devoted caregiver, Priscilla Blue.

A tribute to my Grama:
“Every time I see a frog, I’ll think of you Grama. Thank you for showing me unconditional love. Thank you for wiping away my tears when no one else did. Thank you for giving me countless opportunities to explore the world and learn about new cultures. Thank you for the hour-long phone calls just to talk and hear your voice. Thank you for being a ray of sunshine that brightened my day. Without you, I wouldn’t be who I am now. I love you, Grama, rest easy.” – Holly Gayle
