Robert John “Bob” Oebser

Robert John “Bob” Oebser, age 75, of Plainview, Minnesota, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on February 13, 2026. He was born on December 16, 1950, in Arcadia, Wisconsin to Adolph and Marlene (Rothering) Oebser. Bob spent most of his life surrounded by family, friends, and the Minnesota outdoors he loved.
On August 2, 1975, he married Dianne Brinkman and they resided in Plainview. Together they raised three beautiful daughters, Christina (Troy Hutchison), Carrie (Brian Blanck), and Carmen (David Cabbage). Bob was also a loving grandfather to Owen, Sean, Evan, and Bree.
Bob graduated from Winona High School in 1971.  After attending vocational technical school, he had a lifelong career as a welder and maintenance worker at Crenlo in Rochester, Minnesota, where he served faithfully for over 35 years. Beyond his work, Bob was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, golfing, softball, and bowling. A testament to his skill and dedication, he bowled two perfect 300 games and was inducted into the Winona Bowling Association Hall of Fame in 2012. Bob also enjoyed playing cards and family game night.
Bob is survived by his wife of over 50 years, his daughters, grandchildren, his brother Donald (Lois) Adank of Elmwood, WI and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, August Adank Jr., Clyde Adank, Dallas Adank, LaVerne “Mickey” Adank, Richard “Dick” Adank; three sisters, Judy Oebser, Lorraine Olson, Carol Lueras; sisters-in-law, Donna Adank, Eloise Adank; brothers-in-law, Gerald Olson and Edward Lueras.
A Celebration of Life will be held in honor of Bob on Saturday, March 14, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Plainview American Legion at 215 Third St SW, Plainview, MN 55964, where friends and family are invited to share memories and celebrate a life well-lived.
