John William Manley

John William Manley, at 79 years of age, passed away on the 11th of August, 2025. He was born on March 30th of 1946 to his parents Bernice (Pfeil) and Wesley Manley, and raised in the Dover and St. Charles area. John spent his life farming and later supported his farming habits by working at the Myo Clinic on the night crew and later in tissue registry. John loved “Country Living.” He enjoyed gathering with friends and talking about the current news in the agriculture community, the weather, and eating good food.
John is survived by his wife of 24 years, Nancy, his step-daughter Jessica and her husband Chhoeum, his three grandchildren, who he dearly loved, Jeremy, Tevy, and Nahvy, and also his great-grandson and best buddy Levi.
John battled pancreatic cancer heroically and had a strong, unwavering belief in god and his country. I’m sure he is smiling down on all of us. He spent the last weeks of his life surrounded and cared for by his beloved family and the caring members of the Mayo Clinic Hospice team.
There will be a “Celebration of Life” on Sunday, September 21st, in Eyota at St. Paul United Church of Christ (on county road 9) with Pastor Jerry Locula for a 2:30 p.m. service followed by lunch. All friends and neighbors are welcome to attend.
