Eleva-Strum School Board begins new term

CENTRAL - The Eleva-Strum School Board began its new term by choosing officers at its May meeting held back on the 12th.

Joshua Stendahl was approved as Board President. Kristen Husby was nominated as Vice-President. Jessica Franson was nominated as Clerk. Craig Marsolek was approved as Treasurer and Craig Semingson was nominated as the CESA #10 Representative. All nominations were adopted unanimously. All committee appointments and other designations were approved as well.

The board unanimously accept the resignation of Emily Steiger as English Language Learner/Spanish Teacher and approved all hires coming out of closed session. They also discussed employee compensation and performance during that session. Also unanimously approved after closed session were two additional motions which decreased district HSA contribution by $2,000.00 and increase salary by $2,000.00 for Marty Kempf, Elementary Principal, and decrease district HSA by $2,000.00 and increase salary by $2,000.00 for Cory Kulig, District Superintendent.

In other agenda items, the board unanimously approved approve aresolution authorizing the transfer of funds and the establishment of an escrow account with respect to and the defeasance of certain of the general obligation refunding bonds: Dated June 4, 2018. They also approved a motion for an increase in pay of 2.5% for all co-curricular and advisor compensation; all open enrollment applications and approved the high deductible health plan to $1,500.00 single and $3,000.00 family.
