Jackson County Board passes resolution on increased state support for child services

BLACK RIVER FALLS - The Jackson County Board of Supervisors passed a resolution by a 15-2 margin requesting the State of Wisconsin increase funding for county child support services duiing its December meeting held back on the 19th.

The resolution states that the "Jackson County Board of Supervisors respectfully requests that state funding for county child support agencies be increased by $5 million GPR in each fiscal year
of the 2023-25 Wisconsin state budget, which will generate approximately $9.7 million in additional federal funding each year. This investment will ensure that Wisconsin counties can continue to
effectively provide economic support to our children."

The resolution also called for a copy to be forwarded to Gov. Evers, all State Senators and Assembly-persons representing Jackson Count, the Wisconsin Counties Association and the Wisconsin Dept. of Administration.

In other action by the Board, the Supervisors unanimously approved purchasing a f\orklift for the recycling center and also unanimously approved a list of all contractors and approved contracted services for the county's Dept. of Health and Human Services.
