Osseo-Fairchild announces training partnerships with CVTC

OSSEO - It was announced at the Osseo-Fairchild School Board meeting held on Monday, Sept. 13 that partnership programs with Chippewa Valley Technical College (CVTC) with the district will begin during the 2022-23 school year.

Drew Semingson, O-F Middle/Senior High School Principal made the announcement. The partnership programs are in welding and construction and will take advantage of the new technical education center currently under construction behind the middle/high school building.

"These are programs where students can go straight into the workforce from if the pass them," Semingson said.

The board gave its unanimous approval to all hires and resignations along with approving unanimously an athletic trainer's service agreement with the Mayo health Clinic System, a transfer of funds student activity and scholarship account funds to Fund 21, a cooperative agreement with the Kiel School District in eastern Wisconsin and a setting of the agenda for the district's annual meeting on Oct. 25 at 7 p.m.

District Superintendent Lori Whalen announced the district would receive a grant for homeless children and youth from the American Rescue Plan. Whalen said the district has students that are without permanent residence or are staying in multiple households and that the grant would provide a support system for them.
