Strum Village Board applies for water rate incrase
STRUM - It was reported to the Strum Village Board during its February meeting back on the 10th at the Civic Center that the Village submitted its application to Public Serve Commission (PSC) as of 1-23-2025, for a water rate increase with an an effective starting date April 1.
Speaking of the water/sewer system, the Board greed to a payment plan with Gal Ventures for its water/sewer bill for December 2024 Consumption, which was over 85,000 gallons. This was due, according to the owner, that the pipes had froze and burst causing the high consumption, which was reflected in the high January bill.
It was also reported to the Board that citizen Graham Barnes presented a proposal to develop all or part of the Spruce St. addition. Citizen Leland Christianson proposed to have the parcel he acquired re-zoned to Commercial and Residential for a new storage facility and some housing and Ayers Associate Austin presented updates to the board regarding DNR permitting for Crystal Lake dredging.
