Teresa Barbara Deinhammer
Teresa Barbara Deinhammer, 73, of rural Strum, died Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.
Teresa was born August 27, 1942 in Eau Claire to Edward and Anna Marie Prissel, Sr. She graduated from Regis High School in 1960.
Teresa married Steven Deinhammer on July 11, 1964 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Eau Claire.
Teresa worked at Wisconsin Telephone in Eau Claire as a clerk until 1965 when she and Steven started their family. Through the years she worked as a meter reader for Rural Electric, in customer service for Prange’s Department Store, and in the office of Equity Livestock Auction for 28 years. For over 25 years she served as clerk for Pleasant Valley Township.
Teresa enjoyed spending time at the cottage with family and friends, fishing, working in her gardens growing flowers and vegetables, sewing, and dancing with Steve. She was an active member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church – where she was a charter member at the age of four – and was a member of Immacualata Ladies Society. For a number of years, she was a member and officer of Women of the Moose, Moose International.
Teresa is survived by her husband Steven; daughter, Kathleen Deinhammer Timm of Allen; son Andrew (Michelle) Deinhammer of Foster; three grandchildren, Christian Deinhammer, Cody Timm and Agatha Timm; brother, Ray (Rosie) Prissel of Eau Claire; sisters-in-law, Ione Prissel of Eau Claire, Vi Prissel of Eau Claire, Evie Prissel of Eau Claire and Judy (Mike) Berg of Eleva; brother-in-law, Tom (Jane) Deinhammer of Eau Claire; 19 nieces and nephews.
Teresa was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Anna; parents-in-law, Ernest and Agatha Deinhammer; brothers, Edmond, Dick, Clarence and Edward Jr. Prissel; nephews Mike and Rich Prissel.
A funeral mass was held at 11 a.m., Monday, March 7, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Eau Claire with Fr. Don Meuret officiating. Burial was in Union Cemetery located in the Town of Pleasant Valley, Eau Claire County, WI.
Friends called from 4-7 p.m., Sunday at Schiefelbein Funeral Home in Osseo. A Rosary service followed at 7 p.m. Friends also called from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church on Monday.
