Two appointed to Osseo-Fairchild School Board, but one seat opens up
OSSEO - The Osseo-Fairchild School Board approved the appointments of two persons onto the board at its special meeting back on April 27 but another seat has opened up on the board which needs to be filled.
This is the seat for Area 5 - which includes all that area north of sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6, Town of Sumner and sections 5 and 6 of the Town of Garfield. People interested in serving on the board can send letter of interest on or before noon Monday, May 11, 2020 to: the Osseo-Fairchild School District. Attn: Board of Education. 50851 East Street. Osseo, WI 54758. Appointment will be made by the Osseo-Fairchild School Board and will remain on the board until the April 2021 election. Interested parties must be resident of Area 5. The next school board meeting is on May 11 at 7 p.m.
The other seats filled were by Rozanne Traczek for Area 2 and Matt Hazen for Area 4. Both were on the board but had to be re-appointed due to a mistake during the spring election back on April 7. Both seats should have been on the ballot but were mistakenly left off. They had to been reappointed to the board and their term only lasts until April of 2021.
In other agenda items taken up by the board during the meeting, the board unanimously approved making Personal Finance a high school for next school year, unanimously approved renewing the technology referendum committee of the board, unanimously approved revisions to the grading process for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year, unanimously approved a cooperative agreement with the Augusta School District, approved employee compensation for the 2020-21 school year, unanimously approved the resignation of Dawn Herman as Speech and Language Pathologist and Dale Pocernich as Technology Director/Support Service and unanimously approved the hiring of Alyse Korpela as as Technology Director/Support Service.
The board went into closed session to consider an employee separation issue and separation agreement. The board came back from closed session and took no action.
