She began her career as a middle school Betty home economics teacher in Wabasha, Minnesota, where she inspired many students with her practical wisdom and caring spirit for 16 years. She went on to serve as a family counselor, therapist, and supervisor of Family Services at Hazelden Center for Youth and Families, from which she later retired. For all who knew Betty, she loved to cook and sew, but most of all her favorite pastime was having garage sales. Her garage sales were more than the usual sale—they were like the opening of a small store, right out of her garage. Betty will be deeply missed and forever cherished by her family and friends. She will always be our Grandma B. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, March 13, at 3:00 p.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church (1500 Vine Street, Hudson, Wisconsin). Visitation will be held from 2:00–3:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will follow at Willow River Cemetery in Hudson, Wisconsin.
