Darrell Eugene Sheeley

Darrell Eugene Sheeley, 84, passed away peacefully at his home on April 16, 2021, in Wabasha, Minnesota.
Darrell was born on September 1, 1936 in Austin, Minnesota, the son of Ernest and Lottie Sheeley. He was the youngest of 11 children. Darrell had a desire to serve his country. He did so by enlisting in the Marine Corps in 1953. He served in the Korean War, which was not something Darrell often spoke of. Darrell and his wife, Janet (DeVries), were married in May 1968. After his time in the Marine Corps, he became a member of the 544th Army Reserve unit in Wabasha from 1971 to 1983. He was employed at Honeywell, Gould, and spent many years at Big Joe Flour before retiring. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, taking part in the Flood Run, fishing and socializing with any and everyone.
He is survived by his three children Lynn, Darren (Cindy), Wabasha and Mike (Gwen) Nelson, four grandchildren, Alexis, Dylan, Tim and Jessica and great granddaughter Monroe. He is also survived by three nieces, Jill (Todd) Anderson, Jayne (Pete) Gjervold, and Jannelle (Jason) Goodrie.
He was proceeded in death by his wife Janet, parents, sister-in-law and brother-in-law; Karen and Vern Ferguson, a great granddaughter Harper Winslow; and his 10 siblings.
At this time, there will be a private service at a later date.
