Donna Mae Schade

Donna Mae Schade, age 89, of Wabasha, passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at home surround-ed by family.Donna was born March 23, 1936, in Wabasha, MN to Kathryn Sullivan and George Tibor. She graduated from St. Felix High School with the class of 1954. She met the love of her life, Jim Schade, at a dance in Dumfries, MN, and was united in marriage on April 23rd, 1960 at St. Felix Church. She worked at Daytons in Rochester, Wabasha County Court House, Wabasha Clinic, and owned her own H&R Block in Plainview doing taxes for years before retiring.Donna loved playing Bunco with friends, dancing, ceramics, and had a passion for sewing. She was a very good seamstress, making clothes with her own designer label, several wedding dresses, formal dresses, beautiful quilts, and could patch, hem, and alter anything. She is preceded in death by her parents. Donna is survived by her loving husband, Jim; children; Jerome “Jerry” (Sue) Schade and Jean (Bruce) Johnson, grandchildren; CJ (Hailey). Schade and Mandy (Lucas) Printz, and great grandchildren Veyda and Jonah Schade. She will be greatly missed by family and all who knew her.Funeral Mass was held 11 a.m. Monday, September 29, 2025, at St. Felix Catholic Church, Wabasha with Fr. Tom Loomis officiating. Interment was at St. Felix Cemetery, Wabasha.Visitation was held 3-7 p.m. Sunday, September 28, 2025, at Abbott Funeral Home, Wabasha, with prayers at 7 p.m. The visitation began at 10 a.m. Monday at the church.Reception was held at the VFW, Wabasha following the burial.Services entrusted to Abbott Funeral Home & Crematory, Wabasha, MN.
