Frances Ann Mountin

Frances Ann Mountin, 93, of Lake City, died Sunday, March 1, 2026, at Gundersen St. Elizabeth’s Care Center in Wabasha, MN.She was born August 21, 1932, to Delores (Oenning) and Martin Dunbar in Wabasha County, Minnesota. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Lake City, Minnesota in 1950, and had two years of college classes with Winona State University. She married Charles Ernest Mountin on December 24, 1950, in Lake City. He died October 22, 1980. She moved to Phoenix, Arizona area in October of 1981 where she worked at North Brothers (a carpeting distributor) in Phoenix, AZ. She had been employed at Gould Inc., Engine Parts Division for 15 years prior to moving to Arizona. She also had been employed at Jack’s Café, Snack Shop, Truck Stop, Jewell Nurseries and Zero King, all of Lake City. She enjoyed miniatures, traveling, gardening and quilting. She was a member of NAME (National Association of Miniature Enthusiasts) for 22 years, Small World Miniature Club and Quilting Clubs. She was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Lake City.She is survived by four daugh-ters; Joan Aitken of Wabasha, Patricia Van Houten, Lois (Ronald) Zoromski and Diane (Ward) Wenger, all of Lake City; 14 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren; brother, Robert Dunbar of Omaha, NE and a half-brother Jerry (Margi) Dunbar of Lake City. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her stepmother Laurina Dunbar; sisters, Delores Dunbar and Jean Wahlster; step-sister, Joyce Bedner; brother, Rodger Dunbar; half-brother, Jesse; three grandsons, Justin, Jamie and Joseph Zoromski.The funeral for Frances was held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 5, 2026, at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Lake City, MN with Rev. Paul Eh-ling officiating. The visitation was held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Burial was in Lake-wood Cemetery in Lake City following the service.Pallbearers are Michael Aitken, Charles Aitken, Josh-ua Van Houten, Jacob Van Houten, Andrew Wenger, Ryan Zoromski, Kevin Wenger, Chris Zoromski and Nathan Van Houten.Arrangements by Schleicher Funeral Homes, Lake City Chapel.
