John H. Hubbard, 88 of Wabasha, MN, passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family, at Emplify Gundersen St. Elizabeth Health Care Center, Wabasha.John was born August 24, 1937, in Durand, WI to Lloyd M. and Pearl L. (Coleman) Hubbard. He graduated from Wabasha High School. On October 4, 1958, he married Agatha A. Binner at St. Felix Catholic Church, Wabasha.John lived a life defined by perseverance, deep faith, and unwavering devotion to those he cherished.John was blessed to share 68 years of marriage with the love of his life, whom he adored and honored every day. Their partnership was a source of strength, joy, and unconditional love.In 1961, John survived a life-changing electrocution accident that resulted in the loss of both legs and his right arm. With remarkable courage and determination, he recovered, returned to work, and continued to provide for his family. His resilience became a lasting testament to his character and the spirit with which he faced every challenge.John built his career as a line-man, a role he took pride in and approached with dedication. His strong faith guided him throughout his life, offering him purpose and grounding through both triumph and hardship.He treasured his friendships and the many people whose lives he touched along the way. An avid outdoorsman, John found his greatest joy in spending time outdoors hunting with family and friends. John inspired his children and grandchildren to have a passion for the outdoors and hunting. Those moments were filled with stories, laughter, and companionship, which became some of the memories he held most dear.Above all, John leaves behind a legacy of strength, love, and faith that will continue to inspire all who knew him.Survived by his wife Agatha, sons: Scott (Cheryl), Keith (Tammy), and John, Jr. (Nancy); daughter Jonelle Hubbard; seven grandchildren: Halle Hubbard, Tessa Hubbard, Justine (Greg) Frood, Julie Ann (James) Hiller, Ian Hubbard, Daniela (Jesse) Jefferson, and Damon Wolfe; and great grandchildren: Theodore Hiller and Jones Jefferson; siblings: Cindy (Bill) Marking and Karen (Dave) Harney. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter Julie Ann Hubbard, and siblings; Lorna Hartung, Darlene Hubbard, Joe Hubbard, and Donelda Langseth.Funeral Mass will be 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at St. Felix Catholic Church, Wabasha with Rev Tom Loomis officiating. Interment will be at St. Felix Cemetery, Wabasha.Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, April 20 at Abbott Funeral Home, Wabasha and beginning at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
