Mary H. Lager, 80, Wabasha

 Mary H. Lager, age 80, a lifelong resident of Wabasha, died Monday, November 17, 2014 at St. Elizabeth’s Health Care Center in Wabasha.  She was born August 28, 1934 in Wabasha, the daughter of Joseph and Marie (Grass) Lager.  She was a graduate of Wabasha High School.  Mary worked as a nurse aid at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Wabasha for over 40 years.
 She was a member of St. Felix Catholic Church and its Council of Catholic Women.  She was also a member of the Wabasha American Legion Post #50 Auxiliary.  She was an avid Minnesota Gopher football and basketball fan.  She enjoyed quilting, doing puzzles, reading and feeding the birds.
 Mary is survived by brother and sisters-in-law, Harry and Marne Lager, Wabasha, MN, Marie Lager, Wisconsin Rapids, WI, and Shirley Lager, Wabasha, MN; several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Marie Lager, sisters, Margaret Lager and Lucille (Mrs. Robert) Dick, and brothers, Edward, Vincent, Bernard and Leo “Fuzz” Lager.
 A memorial Mass will be offered on Thursday, November 20, 2014 at 5pm at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center Chapel in Wabasha with the Reverend Father Joseph LaPlante officiating.  Interment will be in St. Felix Cemetery.  Family and friends may call at the chapel on Thursday one hour before the Mass.  Memorials are preferred to St. Elizabeth’s Community Foundation, 1200 5th Grant Blvd. W., Wabasha, MN  55981.  The Abbott Funeral Home of Wabasha is in charge of arrangements.  www.abbottfh.com
