Mary Lou Schuth

Mary Lou Schuth, 87 of Wabasha passed away March 26, 2025 at her daughter’s home in Nelson, WI surrounded by her family.
Mary Lou was born November 12, 1937 to Marion (Smith) and John Eggenberger in Theilman, MN. On July 2, 1955 she married Donald A. Schuth at St. Felix Catholic Church in Wabasha, MN. Together they had two children, Cheryl and Linda.
Mary Lou attended a one room schoolhouse in Theilman, MN. After she married, she worked at the egg factory in Wabasha, later at the glove factory in Winona, before retiring she worked part time for the Wabasha Herald.
In her younger years, Mary Lou enjoyed playing softball in local leagues. As time passed, she grew to love traveling, trips to the casino, playing cards, putting puzzles together, and playing bingo. She loved spending time with her family. She always looked forward to attending her grandchildren’s and great grandchildren’s sporting events, and was fond of listening to her great-grandson sing and play guitar.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald; daughter, Cheryl; brothers, Donald Beaham, Milton Eggenberger, Roy Eggenberger; and sister, Sally Schurhammer.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda (Wayne Leeland) Kaupa of Nelson, WI; two grandchildren, Jennifer (Jake) Burt of Hayfield, MN, Jeffrey Kaupa of Las Vegas, NV; three great-grandchildren, Morgan, Taylor, and Logan Burt; many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank St. Croix Hospice staff for the wonderful care they provided to our mother in the final months of her life.
A graveside service will be held at 3:30pm on Friday, April 4, 2025 at St. Felix Cemetery in Wabasha. A reception will follow at the VFW at 4:00pm.
