Michael Franklin Binner
Michael Franklin Binner, age 82, a lifetime resident of Wabasha, Minnesota, died Friday, October 31, 2025, at Emplify Health – Gundersen, La Crosse, WI. He was born January 8, 1943, at Saint Elizabeth’s Hospital in Wabasha to Franklin and Adelaide (Ness) Binner. He attended Greenfield Township School through 8th grade and then attended St. Felix Catholic High School, graduating in 1961. Shortly after graduation, he joined the U.S. Air Force as a jet engine mechanic. He was stationed at Grand Forks Air Force Base (AFB) in North Dakota. Upon his discharge, he returned to Minnesota and worked as a mechanic in Winona and Wabasha before opening Mike’s A&T Repair in Kellogg. In 1979 he moved his business from Kellogg to rural Wabasha. He also sold and serviced power equipment. Mike had a real knack for fixing things. Mike served as a supervisor on the Greenfield Township Board for many years. Mike was passionate about serving the residents of Greenfield Township. In his spare time, Mike enjoyed the outdoors, especially gardening. Mike is survived by his siblings; Mary Ann Binner, Bob (Jolene) Binner, Marge (Jon) Bergin, Joe (Carol) Binner, Larry (Kate) Binner, Cheryl (Mike) Maier, Cathy (Vern Dietzenbach) Binner, Dan (Linda) Binner, sister-in-law Carol (Tom) Binner, numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins. Mike is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Thomas W. Binner and David J. Binner. Private committal prayers were held at St. Felix Cemetery, Wabasha, with Fr. Tom Loomis officiating.
