Robert Ryan (Buddy) Gwynn

Robert Ryan (Buddy) Gwynn passed away on June 24, 2025, from a heart attack. Bob was born on June 29, 1948, to Robert S. and Katherine (Konomos) Gwynn. The family moved to Rochester, MN from Lansing, MI in 1957.Bob enjoyed body and fender work, stock car racing, wood working, being on the Mississippi River, and being with his dogs. He retired from Pepin Manufacturing in Lake City in 2015. He had previously worked for IBM for 21 years. Bob was a soap box derby champion in 1961. He graduated from John Marshall High School in Rochester in 1968 and served in the Navy for four years.He is survived by his loving wife, Cherie, of 43 years and God blessed Bob with two sons, Troy (Amber) and Sean (Laura). God also blessed him with four grandsons, one granddaughter, one great grandson and one great grand-daughter. He is also survived by his sister Judi Bjork (Butch) and two nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents.Bob will be remembered for his love of family and his wonderful sense of humor. He always had a story to tell or a “project” he was working on.Funeral service will be 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at Abbott Funeral Home, Wabasha. Interment will be at Pleasant Prairie Cemetery, Rochester, MN.Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Services entrusted to Abbott Funeral Home & Crematory, Wabasha, MN.
