Shirley A. Wills

Shirley A. Wills, 90 of Wabasha, passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at Gundersen – St Elizabeth Health Care Center, Wabasha.
Shirley Ann was born February 20, 1935, in Wabasha to Anna (McNallan) and Lloyd Meyer. She graduated from St. Felix High School, Wabasha in 1953. On August 2, 1958, she married John “Jack” Wills at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Theilman, MN. Together they raised four children: Jeffrey, Jacqueline, David and Thomas.
Shirley was an administrative assistant for several years at Big Joe Flour before she was married. After her children were raised, she went to work for Great River Industries.
Raising her children was her most passionate privilege. She attended all their sports and extracurricular activities. Coordinating practices, games, rehearsals, productions, and never missing an event was literally a full-time job.
If you knew Shirley, you knew what a kind and loving person she was. She always had time to listen and made you feel like you were the only person that mattered.
She and Jack enjoyed spending many summers camping with the grandchildren and 20 winters in Apache Junction, Arizona, which created many new friendships from across the country.
Shirley is survived by her children: Jeff (Cindy) Wills; Jackie “Mitzi” (Terry) Ryan; David “Louie” (Sue) Wills; and Tom Wills; ten grandchildren, Mike (Jean) and Eric (Dal) Wills, Anne (Travis) Klassen, Grant Wills, Ryan (Samantha) Krause, Nolan (Tara) Krause, Greg (Amy), Ashley (Corey) Monson, Brandon Stephanie) Wills, and Peter Wills; sixteen great-grandchildren; brothers, David (Marcia) Meyer and C. Kenneth (Marge) Meyer; a sister, Mary “Babe” Wenzinger; many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jack, and brothers George and Hillary “Bud” Meyer.
Funeral Mass was held 11 a.m. Monday, August 18, 2025, at St. Felix Catholic Church, Wabasha with the Reverend Tom Loomis officiating. Interment was at St. Felix Cemetery, Wabasha.
Visitation was held 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, August 17, at Abbott Funeral Home, Wabasha and began at 10 a.m. at the church on Monday.
Memorials are preferred to St. Felix School, 130 3rd St. E., Wabasha, MN 55981.
