Thomas W. Tentis
Thomas W. Tentis, Sr, 86 of rural Kellogg, MN, passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at home with his family. Thomas William was born June 29, 1939, in Wabasha, MN to Julia (McNallan) and Norman Tentis, Sr. Tom graduated from St. Felix High School, Wabasha in 1957 and enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserve. He was a farmer all his life on the same farm. On April 23, 1960, he married Janice Rupkalvis and they recently celebrated 65 years of marriage. Together they raised three children: Ann, Tom Jr. and Patricia.Tom served on the Greenfield Cemetery Board for many years and was currently serving as president. He was involved in a snowmobile club and enjoyed many trips up north snowmobiling with family and friends. When the snow was gone, it was 3-wheeler trips and spending time at their hunting cabin, The Boar’s Nest, next to the Zumbro River. Tom is survived by his wife Jan; two children: Ann (Gary) Stevenson and Tom (Deanne Lehnertz-Hansen) Tentis, Jr.; five grandchildren: Jacob Stevenson, Lindi (Ryan) Sharpe, Leah Rainey, Cole (Chelsey) Packer and Adam (Kelsey Marx) Packer; six great grand-children: Lily, Wyatt, Davy, Lila, Scotty, and Kace; a brother Norman (Barb) Tentis and other relatives.He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Patricia Packer, two brothers: Anthony “Tony” Tentis and Lawrence “Larry” Tentis.The celebration gathering will be 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sat-urday, August 23, 2025, at The Front Porch Bar & Grill, Kellogg.A private interment will be at Greenfield Cemetery, Kellogg.
