W-K Football put points on the board in loss to Grand Meadow, 60-18

Ender scores three touchdowns for Falcons

WABASHA—Wabasha-Kellogg put points on the board in its home matchup against Grand Meadow on Wednesday, Oct. 14, finding the end zone twice through the air and adding a special-teams touchdown. Grand Meadow ultimately came away with a 60-18 victory.
The Falcons showed their ability to make big plays, particularly through the passing game and on kickoff returns, with Bryar Ender accounting for all three of W-K’s touchdowns.
Ender led the Falcons’ receiving corps with nine catches for 120 yards and two touchdowns. He also made a major impact on special teams, returning a kickoff 70 yards for another score.
Quarterback Will Stark connected with Ender for a 13-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter, getting W-K on the scoreboard after Grand Meadow had built an early lead. Ender later caught a 51-yard touchdown pass from Kevin Wiebusch, giving the Falcons another highlight in the passing game.
Stark completed seven of 13 passes for 102 yards and one touchdown. Wiebusch added 78 passing yards and a touchdown on five completions in 12 attempts. Together, the two quarterbacks helped W-K finish with 180 passing yards.
Jax Oxendine contributed a 34-yard reception, while Wiebusch added 26 receiving yards on two catches. Ender’s nine receptions accounted for much of the Falcons’ offensive production.
The Falcons finished with 206 total yards on 48 plays, including 26 rushing yards. Wiebusch led W-K’s rushing effort with 30 yards on five carries, while Cooper Dornink added four yards on three attempts.
Defensively, Dornink recorded four tackles and two tackles for loss. Ender contributed three solo tackles and four assists, while J. Dunn and N. Kruger each recorded five combined tackles.
The Falcons recovered from early challenges to produce several explosive plays of their own, including Ender’s long kickoff return and the two touchdown connections through the air. Ender’s three touchdowns and 154 combined receiving and kickoff-return yards highlighted the Falcons’ biggest plays of the night, and made for an impressive game this season.
