Buffaloes defeat Boyceville, fall to Spring Valley

 

The Mondovi Buffaloes had a busy week of play, starting off with a game which sent them on the road to Boyceville on Monday, May 18. The  Buffaloes current record for their season is 7-9. 

The game started off with promise of an exciting game for both teams, as Mondovi and Boyceville each earned two runs in the first inning. In the bottom of the third, the Bulldogs added another two runs to their score! In the top of the fourth, the Buffaloes scored three runs for the team, and another two in the sixth, bringing the score to 7-4. The Buffaloes took charge in the top of the seventh, scoring a whopping six runs in the inning. The Buffaloes took the win, 13-4. 

The Buffs then played at home against Spring Valley on Tuesday to try and snag another win. Spring Valley was first to put runs on the board, earning two in the top of the second inning. In the third, they again managed to add an additional five runs.  Mondovi wasn’t able to contribute any runs on the board in the fifth, as Spring Valley put the score ahead 7-0. In the sixth, the Buffaloes found a place on the board, earning three runs, by Clay Dzeikan, Jake Ede and Blake Purdy. That was all the boys could manage, losing to Spring Valley, 10-3. 

The team played against Plum City on Thursday, May 21 on the road, and away in Elk Mound on Tuesday, May 26. The boys will play against Galesville Ettrick-Trempaleau at home on Thursday, May 28 and at Chetek-Weyerhaeuser High School on Friday.
